Ford IDS VCM (VCM) is a high performance, rugged, vehicle serial communications gateway, Car Diagnostic Tool. This device provides multiple vehicle serial communication interfaces to meet the requirements of all Ford Motor Company vehicles.

Ford Ka (model year 2009 and later) is manufactured in cooperation with Fiat. you need to use Fiat Examiner to diagnose this vehicle.

Ford does not use fixed-pin security scheem for PATS. Instead of fixed code, OUTCODE-INCODE challenge-response scheme is used (so called CODED PATS). Ford-VCM OBD can work with CODED PATS. you can use patscode.com in connection with Ford IDS (Ford VCM).but Ford-VCM OBD requires proprietary interface because ELM32x-style interfaces do not support all protocols and pinouts to perform full diagnosis.
Install the softare,please notice as blow:
1. Your computer must be windows XP SP2 or SP3
2. Software need install on C://
3. Need install the convert software and follow the instruction.
Notice :the application will detect the interface device that is connected to the laptop. Indicator icons will appear at the bottom right-hand corner of the IDS screen when the VCM are connected.
