User-friendly PASSAT 2.0 scanner for my grandpa

Picking up an inexpensive but powerful OBDII scanner for his 2005 VW PASSAT 2.0 makes my 80-year-old grandfatehr Jack giddy. The oil service light in his PASSAT came on a few days ago, and he wanted to solve it himeself.

Engine problems are often due to a bad fuel mix, lack of compression or lack of spark. There will be fault codes once the check engine light illuminates and lasts for hours. The check engine light will go out only when the codes are cleared, and before clearing the codes, you will have to find them. Therefore, my grandfather, follwed the online advices and decided to buy a OBD2 scanner to fix the problem on his own.
OBD2 code readers for vehicles such as PASSAT are usually expensive, though they are very powerful as well. But Jack was trying to look for a cheap one which only has to be able to get him the error codes. After learning this, I bought him an iOBD2 scanner for VW, a code scanner that supports diagnoses through Android phone by Bluetooth but only costs less than $100.
Jack received the package from China yesterday, and connected it to his PASSAT 2.0 immediately. Then he told me last night that the iOBD2 VW was great, smart and very easy to use. Even though he only had a little knowledge about car diagnosing, he cleared the error codes with the device for less than 5 minutes, including the time he wirelessly connected the tool to his Android.
